Marcus Rivera

Officer Rivera began his law enforcement career with the AddisonRivera_Marcus_2025
Police Department in July of 2007. He graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies.
While assigned to the Field Services Division, Officer Rivera served as a Field Training Officer, Juvenile Officer, Evidence Technician, and member of the Crisis Intervention Team. In September of 2013, he was assigned to the Gang Tactical Unit, investigating violent crimes, gang crimes, and narcotics offenses. During this time, he was involved in hundreds of investigations and was a member of the DuPage County Major Crimes Task Force.
In May of 2021, Officer Rivera was selected as the School Resource Officer for Addison Trail High School. Then in November of 2023, he was selected for the Community Response/Crime Free Multi-Housing Unit.
Officer Rivera has received numerous awards and commendations during his time with the Addison Police Department and while working in the Criminal Investigations Section.
