Northeast DuPage Family and Youth Services (NEDFYS) is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible mental health and social services to underserved residents of DuPage County. In partnership with the Addison Police Department, NEDFYS places a dedicated Police Social Worker directly within the department to provide immediate and ongoing support for individuals and families in crisis.
Police-Based Social Work Services include (but are not limited to):
24/7 On-Call Crisis Intervention:
Support for youth and adult mental health emergencies, domestic violence incidents, family conflict, juvenile cases, traumatic events and deaths, violent crime victims, substance use/overdoses, individuals with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities, and senior citizens.
Domestic Violence Follow-Up:
Immediate and ongoing support for victims and children affected by domestic violence.
Crisis Intervention Follow-Up:
Follow-up services for individuals and families who have experienced a mental health or other type of crisis.
Counseling Services:
Short-Term Counseling available at the Addison Police Department.
Long-Term Counseling (individual, family, and group) available at our main offices:

Case Management:
Assessment of needs, care coordination, and referrals to resources such as food, clothing, financial assistance, legal aid, and more. The police social worker helps connect individuals to the services they need.
Youth Crisis Intervention Services:
NEDFYS provides 24/7 customized crisis intervention for youth ages 11–17 in DuPage County.
