City Businesses licenses are issued annually and in accordance with the City Code (click here to view City Code).  Most licenses have a term of July 1st though June 30th.  Renewal notices are automatically sent out by the City however; it is the responsibility of the business to keep their license current.  Mid-year applications are pro-rated by quarter. Please note that new license applications require submission of the application before making any payment.

Home based business:

Due to the recent passage by the state of Iowa of House File 2431, an Act relating to the regulation of home-based businesses, the City of Bettendorf can no longer require a Home Occupation license or permit for “no-impact home-based businesses” as defined within the new law.

Residents that want to verify their home occupation/business is considered a no-impact home-based business can voluntarily submit this form for a courtesy review.
