Wastewater-graphicWastewater is generated anytime someone flushes a toilet, takes a shower or cleans a load of laundry.  That wastewater is collected by underground pipes, which ultimately discharge at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  In Bettendorf, all wastewater is piped to a large interceptor sewer that is generally located on the land side of the Mississippi River flood protection levee.  That interceptor then flows through the City of Davenport, eventually reaching the Davenport Water Pollution Control Plant.  The plant and interceptor sewers are jointly owned, operated and maintained by the cities of Bettendorf, Davenport, Riverdale and Panorama Park through an intergovernmental (28E) agreement.

For more information on the plant, visit the City of Davenport.
