Start Date: May 5, 2025

Location: Second Street from Schwartz Place to Madison Avenue

Phase 1: The removal and replacement of severely damaged curbs, the removal and replacement of severely damaged sidewalks, and the removal and replacement of concrete or asphalt aprons with concrete aprons. Reparation of severely damaged sections of the asphalt base. Installation of six new ADA-compliant sidewalk crosswalks. Installation of two solar-powered radar speed signs and push-button rapid flashing beacon cross signs at the intersection of Second Street & Sanford Avenue.

Phase 2: The milling and paving of 2 inches of asphalt. Enhanced road striping, including rumble strips, the installation of trees, and site restoration. Please note, this portion of the project will be taking place in 2026 and spans Second Street from Madison Avenue to Washington Avenue.

May 19: The project started this past week with the removal and replacement of severely damaged curbs. Removal and replacement work will continue over the next two weeks.
