May 5, 2025: Infrared pavement repairs were performed. CME and the contractor are coordinating the repairs of chipped curbs and pavement cracks. 

April 28, 2025: The project is approximately 95% complete. Only punch list items remain. 

October 21, 2024: The project is near completion. Street striping was completed this past week and CME has provided a punch list for the contractor. Some notable improvements to Kline Place include:

  • Removal and replacement of the sewer main from Kennedy Court to West Fourth Street.
  • Newly installed stormwater system including sump pump tie-ins to the storm water system, including 11 new catch basins.
  • New concrete sidewalk for the Kline Place entrance to Columbia Park, with ADA ramp.
  • Enhanced striping, including rumble strips, sharrows, and 25 MPH painted on the street.
  • Three new trees and eight new shrubs.
  • No Parking area at the end of Kline Place near the Columbia Park entrance.

October 7, 2024: The project is nearing completion and the contractor is going through their punch list from CME. Following the paving of the street, some new trees and brush have been planted. We also expect new signs and street striping this week that will include rumble strips and “25 MPH” painted on the street.

September 16, 2024: Our contractor has started the milling phase of this project today and the paving phase should be completed by Wednesday, September 18th. After the paving phase, the contractor will install trees and shrubs, stripe the road, and add “No Parking” areas at the end of the street near the Columbia Park entrance. The project is expected to be completed by the end of month.

September 3, 2024: Storm drainage improvements and concrete work have been completed, which includes curbing near the 11 new catch basins, each intersection on Kline Place, and at the end of Kline Place. A new sidewalk was also installed along the walkway from Kline Place to Columbia Park. The contractor has begun onsite cleanup and restoration that will continue into the week of September 9. The project will conclude with the milling and paving of the road.

August 21, 2024: Stormwater system installation has been completed. Stormwater system installation has been completed. The upcoming phase includes the installation of sidewalks from Kline Place to the bridge of Columbia Park and the installation of new curbs along the newly installed catch basins. Property restoration will follow. The project will conclude with the milling, paving, and striping of the road. The project is approximately 75% completed as of this update. 

August 1, 2024: Stormwater piping installation has continued and the contractor has now completed installation of nine new stormwater inlets and a new stormwater manhole within the west end of Kline Place at the Pearl Place intersection. The contractor is continuing east with stormwater piping installation down Kline Place towards West Fourth Street. The stormwater infrastructure is approximately 35% complete at this time. New Jersey American Water is scheduled to complete the relocation of four service and a second water main in conflict at the intersection of Kline Place and Jadach Drive this week and next week.
