Department of Public Works Part-Time Job Posting

The Borough of Dunellen is seeking a dependable and hardworking Part-Time Public Works Employee with the opportunity to advance to a full-time position, to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of downtown areas, Borough streets, parks, and public properties. Responsibilities include general labor, landscaping, leaf-bag and branch pickup, road maintenance, and participation in seasonal emergency response activities.
This position requires moderate physical effort. Employees must be able to push or pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, and regularly lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Good close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception, are essential. Employees must be able to perform strenuous work in a variety of weather conditions.

Pay rate: $18.00 per hour. Work hours are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Saturday, for up to 29 hours per week. Occasional off-hours and holiday work may be required.

Department of Public Works Laborer Job Posting

The Borough of Dunellen has an opening for a laborer in their Public Works Department. A valid New Jersey Class B CDL is preferred, or it must be acquired within six months of employment. Some knowledge of and ability to operate landscaping and snow removal equipment are required. Experience with tree work or heavy equipment operation is a plus. Must be available for emergency call-outs, overtime, and occasional Saturdays/Sundays. All candidates must pass a physical and drug screening. Moderate physical effort is required to perform the work. Must be able to push/pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds; required to comfortably lift/carry up to 50 pounds on a regular daily basis. References required. 

The starting salary range is $37,440.00 to $48,672.00, and the top salary rate is $74,250.00 with full health benefits.

Part-Time Mini Bus Driver Job Posting


Dunellen Borough is seeking to fill a part-time Mini Bus operator position, 8 to 16 hours a week, with hours of operation 9 am to 1 pm, and days are flexible. The successful candidate(s) must possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class C with a Passenger (P) Endorsement in order to operate a bus.

The position includes operating a mini bus or similar vehicle with a passenger capacity of up to 10.

Additional duties may include cleaning the vehicle, conducting daily vehicle inspections, and fulfilling other tasks as needed.
