A Folly Beach business license must be obtained for any business activity conducted within the Folly Beach city limits. Licenses from outside jurisdictions, including Charleston County, do not cover business activity in Folly Beach. All existing licenses must be renewed annually prior to May 1st.

Business License Renewals start March 10, 2026, and can be done through the online portal for Charleston County Government or in person at the City of Folly Beach. All business licenses must be renewed by April 30, 2026.
