SATAX Funding Recommendations

State Accommodations Tax Grant Requirements & Application Process

The Town of Kiawah Island invites non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses to apply for funding through our State Accommodations Tax (SATAX) Grant Program. These funds support tourism-related projects and activities that enhance our community.

What Projects and Activities Qualify?

Funds may be used for:

• Promotion of arts and cultural events
• Construction, operation, and maintenance of cultural facilities
• Tourism-related public services and facilities
• Beach renourishment and waterfront erosion control
• Activities that attract and serve visitors to Kiawah Island

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from:

• Organizations located within the Town of Kiawah Island
• Organizations operating in close proximity to the Town of Kiawah Island
• Organizations whose projects or activities directly benefit tourism in the Town of Kiawah Island community

Application Process

1. Complete the online application
2. Applications are reviewed by Town staff for eligibility
3. Qualified applicants present to the SATAX Committee
4. Recommendations are forwarded to Ways and Means and Town Council for approval
5. Funding is provided as reimbursement for eligible expenses

Ways and Means Recommendation	Jun. 3, 2025 (Meeting at 10 a.m.)
Town Council Review/Approval	Jun. 3, 2025 (Meeting at 1 p.m.)
Recipient Notification	Jun. 4, 2025
