The City of Raytown does not provide trash or recycling services, each individual property owner determines which service provider they would like to use. There are other waste disposal services and opportunities around Raytown to recycle and safely get rid of unwanted items, such as: 

Clean Up Coupon

Public Works offers a coupon for Raytown Residents that can be used to help recycle items from your home. To find out more information about the coupon and where it can be used click here.

Recycling

A local option to dispose of glass recyclables, residents can utilize the purple Ripple Glass bin behind the Irish Pub House at 6332 Raytown Rd. Please be courteous of the business and its customers, and respect the guidelines for proper glass recycling.

 While there are not any drop off sites within City Limits, there are three recycling centers in Kansas City, MO a short drive from Raytown. For more information on the locations and materials accepted at these sites, please visit the Bridging the Gap web page.

City Recycling Events

The City hosts Recycle Fests once a year. With proof of residency, you can dispose of recyclable items, have confidential documents shredded, and donate reusable mattresses. The next Recycle Fest is scheduled to take place in Spring of 2025 at Raytown South High School. 

Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off

As of January 1, 2024 Raytown is part of the MARC Household Hazardous Waste Program which includes drop-off at two permanent locations:

Clean-Up Coupon

The Public Works Department offers a coupon that can be used to dispose of bulky items or yard waste. Every household within Raytown City Limits is allowed 4 coupons each calendar year, and can be purchased at the Public Works window at City Hall. The coupons cost $5.00 a piece, but hold a $25.00 value with our two partner organizations. For bulky item pickup, the City of Raytown works with GFL Environmental. For yard waste disposal the City of Raytown works with Missouri Organic Recycling. To learn more about the opportunities available using the Clean Up Coupon please see the information below.
