On May 27, 2025, after a national search, Diane Egger, was appointed City Administrator by the Raytown Board of Aldermen in a special session. Her appointment marks a significant milestone, as she becomes the first woman to hold this position. Prior to this role, Egger served as the City’s Community Development Director.
Egger manages the day-to-day operations of the City, serves and advises the Mayor and the 10-member Board of Aldermen, appoints department directors and prepares the annual budget for Aldermen approval. Her recent successes include expanding the City’s Animal Services Department by purchasing and relocating the department into a free standing 2,240 square-foot facility at 10312 E 63rd St. The new space enhances the City’s capacity to care for animals and strengthens its ability to safeguard the health and well-being of both residents and animals alike.
Other major successes include adding an Emergency Management Director to the City’s roster and increasing the City’s Police Department staffing.
Prior to Raytown, Egger served the City of Independence for more than two decades where she provided oversight to its Health Department, Community Development and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Egger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She is a native of North Kansas City and has one adult son, Alexander.
