The Ethics Board plays a critical role in ensuring transparency, integrity, and accountability within our organization. The board is responsible for upholding ethical standards and addressing concerns raised through formal complaints. Their key duties include:
- Holding hearings within 30 business days of receiving complaints, and thoroughly investigating potential violations of ethical standards;
- Collaborating with the city attorney to develop disclosure forms and making relevant information available to the public;
- Receiving complaints of ethical violations, conducting investigations, and determining if any violations have occurred, and roviding detailed reports and recommendations to the governing authority for further action, as necessary.
The Ethics Board meets when deemed necessary.
Made up of three City residents, the Ethics Board is appointed by the Mayor and Council. Members must have lived in the City for at least one year before taking office and remain residents throughout their two-year term.
