The Public Facilities Authority may serve some of the following purposes:
- Financing and Development: Providing funding and support for the development and maintenance of public facilities such as parks, sports arenas, government buildings, and other infrastructure.
- Project Management: Overseeing construction, renovation, and maintenance projects for city-owned properties and facilities to ensure they meet community needs and regulatory standards.
- Bond Issuance: Issuing bonds to raise funds for public projects. This can include the responsibility of managing the debt and repayment schedules associated with these bonds.
- Lease Agreements: Managing leasing agreements for the use of public facilities to generate revenue or facilitate community events.
- Public Engagement: Facilitating communication and involvement with the public in planning and decision-making processes for public facilities.
The authority shall consist of five members: the Mayor, two City Council Members, the City Administrator, and one additional member appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
