Yuba County is a community rooted in resilience, connection, and opportunity. As one of California’s original counties (founded in 1850), our agricultural heritage and natural beauty have shaped who we are—but our story is defined by where we're headed.
At Yuba County's center is historic Marysville, bordered by the Yuba and Feather rivers and surrounded by communities including Linda, Olivehurst, Arboga, Plumas Lake, and Wheatland. The County’s southern region is home to major attractions and community gathering places, including Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Toyota Amphitheatre, local arts and theater groups, year-round events, and recreational spaces such as Beckwourth Riverfront Park-- which hosts soccer fields, motocross tracks, and river access.
Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Yuba County’s economy, particularly in the northern region known as District 10, where farms and agricultural businesses help drive the local economy and shape the county’s identity.
We also are host county to Beale Air Force Base, nestled just outside of Wheatland-- the second of two incorporated cities in Yuba County. Beale AFB is where the Air Force parks its most significant technology, with missions that focus on reconnaissance, providing maintenance, training, and pilots for a variety of aircraft that use both new and old technology.
To the east and north, the landscape transitions into foothills and open spaces that offer opportunities for boating, camping, fishing, hiking, and exploring. Residents and visitors can enjoy destinations such as Bullards Bar Reservoir, Collins Lake, Lake Francis, and thousands of acres of wildlife and forest land. Our rural foothill communities include Loma Rica, Browns Valley, Oregon House, Dobbins, Brownsville, Challenge, and Camptonville, which are home to friendly people and beautiful scenery.
Our communities reflect the diversity of Yuba County from rural foothills and rolling farmland, to emerging commercial hubs and entertainment opportunities. Our people are what make Yuba County special. We value the small-town spirit that connects neighbors, the entrepreneurial energy driving new growth, and the shared vision of a place where everyone can live, work, and play.
