The Friends of Bettendorf Parks & Recreation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life in Bettendorf by assisting in the development and improvement of our recreational amenities. Funds raised by the Friends have supported many projects, including several playgrounds and other park amenities, the Bettendorf Veterans Memorial, special populations events, Movies in the Park, Crow Creek Dog Park amenities, ice cream socials for the Bettendorf Community Band, funding assistance for recreation programs, Yoga in the Park, Glamour & Glitz Senior Prom, and more.
Annual Events:
- Our 32nd Annual Jamie Hill Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for August 29, 2026 at Palmer Hills Golf Course. This is a four-person preferred ball format with three flights. Email [email protected] for a registration form, to become a sponsor, or to get more information. Returning teams may register May 21 - July 12. New teams may register starting July 13. This is a great fundraising event for the foundation and honors the memory of a former Parks & Recreation Department Employee. There are a number of prizes, including a $10,000 hole-in-one contest, raffles, and door prizes.
- Our annual Senior Golf Cart Tours take place in May and September. The free tours begin at Palmer Hills Golf Course and travel along the Duck Creek Recreational Trail. The tour travels west in the spring and east in the fall. Registration for our 2026 Spring Tour opens April 15 and closes May 14. Registration for our 2026 Fall Tour opens August 12 and closes September 10. First week of registration is open to Bettendorf Residents only. Fee is $10/person.
- Cars & Coffee is an informal gathering for car enthusiasts to meet and hang out while sharing their passion for automobiles. Everyone is invited, any car is welcome, and the coffee is free! Held the first Saturday of each month, April through October, from 9-11 a.m. at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center, 2021 State Street. For more info, email [email protected].
Funding Assistance:
- The Friends of Bettendorf Parks & Recreation provides funding assistance to Bettendorf Residents for various recreation programs. Fill out the application below or email an application (one per family) to Kim Radcliff at [email protected] with proof of residency. The Foundation may request verification of your income. Applications should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the registration deadline of your requested program(s).
- The Friends of Bettendorf Parks & Recreation currently consists of 13 members, each a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa. The foundation meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at 8:30 a.m. at the Bettendorf Community Center (2204 Grant Street).
