Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote public health, safety, comfort, order, and the general welfare by conserving and protecting the natural and man made environment, by providing minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings in Bremer County.
Under contract, this department also provides Building and Zoning code enforcement to the communities of Denver, Readlyn, Janesville, and Waverly.
Please be aware that Zoning District Classifications, Taxation Classifications, and Building Code Occupancy & Use Classifications are THREE separate classification systems that operate independently of each other.
