The Beer Board is charged with administering laws governing the sale of beer in the county, with the members appointed by the County Commission. Once appointed, the county beer board may exercise the same discretion as the county legislative body to grant, deny, suspend or revoke permits to sell beer, and to impose civil penalties, within the limits of the authority granted by law.

Election Commission
The mission of the Trousdale County Election Commission is to provide election services, election information and civic education to the citizens of Trousdale County. The commission strives to ensure impartial, fair and accurate elections in our county. The five members of the commission are appointed for two year terms in each odd numbered year.

The Trousdale County Emergency Communications District Board (911 Board) oversees the county’s emergency communications system, ensuring reliable 911 services and compliance with state standards. The board manages operations, budgets, and policies for the district, which functions as a separate governmental entity under Tennessee law. Members are appointed by the county mayor and confirmed by the county commission to provide fiscal and operational oversight.

The library board directs the affairs of the Fred A. Vaught Library, including the appointment of a library administrator. The library administrator directs the internal affairs of the library, including hiring and directing such assistants as may be necessary.

The function of the Industrial Development Board is to acquire, own, lease, and dispose of properties to the end that corporations may be able to promote industry and develop trade by inducing manufacturing, industrial, and commercial enterprises to locate in Nashville.
Industrial Development BoardBoard of Zoning Appeals
The BZA hears requests from property owners for special exceptions to zoning regulations, assist in settling boundary line disputes, interpret zoning maps, and consider similar questions. Tennessee Code Annotated Title 13, Chapter 7, Part 1 (T.C.A. § 13-7-101 et seq.). The Board meets on the 2nd Monday each month.
Board of Zoning AppealsPlanning and Zoning Commission
The Hartsville/Trousdale County Regional Planning Commission is charged with establishing the zoning regulations, making recommendations to the County Commission concerning rezoning of property, adopting a regional development plan, reviewing plat designs submitted for the development of property and other duties set out under Tennessee Code Annotated Title 13, Chapter 3, Part 1 (T.C.A. § 13-3-101 et seq.).

Water & Sewer BoardUT Agriculture Extension Board
Is required by Tennessee Code Annotated § 49-50-104. It consists of 7 members appointed by the County Commission and works with the local UT Extension office to approve a budget proposal and in an advisory capacity. The Trousdale County UT Extension office is located at 214 Broadway, Hartsville.
