Requirements for Issuing a Water/Sewer Permit:

  • Street Opening Permit at the Public Works Department.
  • A plot plan showing the following must be submitted and approved prior to issuing a permit.
    • House location and address, street name, water and sewer utilities in street.
    • Proposed location of water line and sewer line, existing water and sewer laterals on property,existing well and existing septic system.
  • Current CT license and Certificate of Liability certificate for contractor doing the work.Validity of CT license will be verified on state licensing website.
  • Call-Before-You-Dig number.
  • Per Agreement with the Watertown Fire District, there is a one-time sewer connection charge of $500.00 for each sewer connection for the following locations:
    • Beach Avenue, Watertown, CT
    • East Street, Watertown, CT
    • Longview Avenue, Watertown, CT
    • Bruce Street, Watertown, CT
    • Nova Scotia Hill Road (#28 to #108), Watertown, CT
