Mission Statement

The mission of the Yuba County Department of Child Support Services (YCDCSS) is to provide child support assistance to children in need in an efficient, effective, and professional manner. This assistance will be provided regardless of the custodial status or financial position of the parents of the children. It is hoped that through the establishment and enforcement of child support orders, a sense of parental responsibility will be fostered which will serve to enhance the lives of the children of our county.

What you need to know: California’s child support program made some important changes that make it easier for families to get their support payments and gives parents who pay support more payment options.

If you are a family receiving support payments, a parent making support payments, or an employer garnishing an employee’s wages on behalf of a child support agency, there is information available to help you utilize and access the State Disbursement Unit (SDU), their services, and their website.

There is no fee to open a case with our office, but a $35 annual fee may be charged if the case meets certain criteria.

 No, the YCDCSS cannot assist with custody and visitation issues.

No, The YCDCSS cannot provide legal advice. Customers are advised that they may seek an attorney of their choice or contact their local Family Law Facilitator to request legal advice.

Yes, the YCDCSS has enforcement tools that can be used if the absent parent lives in another county, state, and sometimes even in other countries.

 No, a customer does not have to be on public assistance to use the services of the YCDCSS. The YCDCSS assists people who are on public assistance as well as those not receiving public assistance.

No, either party (the person paying support or the person receiving support) can request our services as long as the child resides in our County.

The YCDCSS office hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm (closed during the lunch hour of 12 pm to 1 pm). Our call center or phones are open Monday through Friday 8 am to 4:45 pm.
