Borough of Dunellen Announces Monmouth Museum Satellite Location and Actors Studio of New Jersey Residency Through NJEDA A.R.T. Grants
The Borough of Dunellen is excited to announce the establishment of a Monmouth Museum satellite location in Dunellen and an Actors Studio of New Jersey residency at the Dunellen Theatre, made possible through a combined $882,896.88 awarded under Phase II of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s (NJEDA) Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation (A.R.T.) Program. These initiatives will strengthen the Borough’s downtown while expanding access to the arts.

Dunellen Unveils Community Mural, Bright Day, Every Day by Olga Tapia at Madison Avenue Underpass
On Saturday, June 21, the Borough of Dunellen proudly unveiled its new public art installation, Bright Day, Every Day by local artist Olga Tapia, at the Madison Avenue underpass, 14 Madison Avenue, Dunellen. The mural has transformed this highly traveled pedestrian route, used by students walking to and from school each day, into an inspiring and vibrant path showcasing our community's creativity.

Dunellen Native Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone Qualifies for USA Track and Field Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics; Breaks Women’s 400-meter Hurdles World Record for a 5th Time
On Sunday, June 30, Dunellen native Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone secured her spot on the USA Track and Field Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics and broke the women’s world record for the 400-meter hurdles race for a fifth time with a decisive victory at the US Olympic Trials finals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

At the June 17, 2024, Dunellen Borough Council Meeting, Ordinance # 2024-20 was approved by Mayor Jason F. Cilento and Dunellen Borough Council following an initial reading at the June 3, 2024, Council Meeting, formally establishing the Dunellen Downtown Management Organization (DDMO) as an official, ratified organization, defining the goals and responsibilities of the organization and the method of appointment of members.

Borough of Dunellen to Welcome Comcast as a Broadband Service Provider by 2026
Mayor Jason F. Cilento and the Borough of Dunellen are excited to announce that Comcast has been approved to become a broadband provider in Dunellen following the adoption of Ordinance 2024-03, at the April 1, 2024, Council Meeting and authorization from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. It is anticipated that Comcast will become available throughout the entire Borough of Dunellen by 2026.

Borough of Dunellen Installs First Bandalong Bandit Litter Trap in the State of New Jersey Through Grant Funding from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as Part of Revolutionary Pilot Program
On Sunday, May 19, 2024, the Borough of Dunellen held an official ceremony to celebrate the installation of the Bandalong Bandit Litter Trap in the Green Brook at the end of Jefferson Avenue, Green Brook, NJ. The Bandit Trash Trap, which is the first of its kind in the State of New Jersey, catches any debris and waste that flows through that section of the brook, reducing pollution and increasing cleanup efforts.
